and so his legend is told. stories of STAR LORD floating around the galaxy. he’s famous just as he’d always wanted. the feeling is nice, really. a warmth inside that brings a smile to his face. “wow, that’s so COOL!” she even got his name right. that’s an improvement over literally everyone else he’s ever met. “oh, man, i wouldn’t worry about food. i’ve been adjusting to some pretty WEIRDalienshit since i was seven.” and what fun is food if you don’t get to start a fight with it? granted, the food is usually the weapon, but it could be interesting as an enemy, too. “your grandfather sounds like a REALLY COOL guy. can he be my grandfather, too?”
❝You’re not from around here, are you? Need help?❞ David asks the stranger with a welcoming grin. He doesn’t know if the stranger needs help but as always, as acting temporary Sheriff. The badge labelled on his belt. It was his duty to help others and he wanted to regardless. From what he knew, he didn’t recognize the guy either. ❝Cool jacket, by the way.”❞
peter can’t tell where he is just by looking at the stars from down here. he knows he’s on earth. can look at the sky and pull up the invisible map he’s created of the universe. but standing here on the planet and looking up, he finds he knows nothing more than the fact that he’s on earth. can’t tell which country he’s in. this man speaking english is definitely a good sign, though. “no, i’m not,” he mutters halfway to himself before turning to the man. “—where is HERE, exactly? i’ve never been here before and it’s just… i’m a little confused.”
at first, the touch is gentle — a barely there grazing of their fingertips which peter initiates — but he grabs a hold of wade’s fingers and tugs until their hands are securely clasped together, merely a step away from one another. it amazes peter how different they’ve both become since they met and yet somehow here they are. together. together-ish? he isn’t totally sure. it doesn’t totally matter. all that matters is — “babe, i could kick your ASS at pac-man.” / @mercnry
is it strange, how the only times she feels completely herself are in the midst of WAR ? child molded into weapon for the sake of destruction , perhaps this is just the way she was meant to be. ( but she doesn’t want that … does she ? ) lips purse , posture as haughty as confidence sits brightly about shoulders. “ and what exactly are you going to do ? ” she has seen no skill whatsoever from the man they call star-lord and remains skeptical. best she keep an EYE out and play the avenger she must be.
“i’m gonna do what i ALWAYS do. i’m gonna kick ass.” that’s it. THAT’S HIS WHOLE PLAN. peter tends to be a ‘make the plan in the moment’ type of guy, at least when the fight gets this intense. he’s all out of ideas, so he’s back at square one. meaning — this is where the TERRIBLE ideas come into play. when it comes to those, peter never experiences any shortages. “what are YOU gonna do, huh? help kick ass, or stand there and judge me? i may not be an AVENGER, but…” a brief pause. “i don’t know where i was going with that. damn it! that was gonna sound so cool.”

i do tend to keep several blogs at a time, though one will be my main blog and the rest will just kind of exist. luckily for you, this is my main blog! that means activity is likely to be higher than expected. it also means that this is the blog i'm logged into on mobile, so i'm fairly easily accessible so long as i'm not at work. speaking of work: i'm a FULL TIME kitchen manager. this takes a lot of time and effort. i'm often exhausted when i'm not working and this definitey has an impact on my ability to sit down & write. i apologize in advance.

in light of my rewatching the movies, i have adapted a list of canon divergences. for starters, i do not acknowledge romantic starmora. i'm all here for them being best friends and super close and loving each other platonically, but i personally am not the biggest fan of the ship. i'm willing to write it if we've discussed it, but it is not my default.
i would also like to address yondu. while i occasionally will refer to yondu as one of peter's dads, it's only ever in the broadest sense. peter does not truly see yondu as his father, but does still see him as a guardian of sorts. towards the last days they spent together, peter started to realize that yondu wasn't all bad, but he also definitely wasn't father material.
the last major divergence from canon i'd like to comment on is that, as far as this blog is concerned, PETER STILL HAS HIS POWERS. you can find my explanation on how that is in this post.

i tend to be picky about who i follow. this isn't anything personal, but i have limited time available to me and i need to keep my dash clean & safe & manageable. i doONLY WRITE WITH MUTUALS, so if i'm following you then i definitely do want to write with you.
i rarely unfollow anyone. for the most part, if i do, it's me unfollowing people who aren't mutuals with me. if we are mutuals and i unfollow, it's almost always because we've never written anything and i'm scared to approach you or i've realized our portrayals would no longer mesh.
i amduplicate-friendly, meaning that i don't mind other peter quill blogs following me or even interacting with them! however, i tend not to follow duplicates first because i don't want to make anyone uncomfortable.
i won't follow the blog of a character if i'm already fully exclusive with a version of that character. however, i will still follow a multi-muse containing that character.
if you're exclusive with another peter quill, I WOULD PREFER YOU NOT FOLLOW ME. it makes me extremely uncomfortable when i check out the blog of someone who has followed me & i see they're already exclusive with the character i write.
interactions.
as stated above, i am mutuals-only. even in doing this, the number of threads i end up with often overwhelms me. i need to manage my time as best as possible and that's simply easiest when i limit the field a little bit. i do tend to reply to threads quicker when writing with muns who i've gotten to know ooc / talk to frequently. talking about ideas or headcanons is definitely a good way to keep the juices flowing & inspire me to write.
i will be using 60x60px icons & small text. i tend not to bother with capitalization because this is just for fun and it's what i like. however, i will write with people who have different styles than i do, so don't worry!
plots.
honestly, plotting is my lifeblood. it's a lot easier for me to sit down and write when we've either plotted the thread or a relationship or anything like that. it helps for me to know where things are meant to go, even if we only have the vaguest of outlines. if we're mutuals and you're interested in plotting, you automatically have permission to come talk to me! even if you don't have any specific ideas, i'd love to figure something out. i'm totally comfortable with anything canon or even most au's.
memes.
you can send memes in at any time. if you find a year old meme that you want to send in, just go ahead and do it! you’re welcome to send in as many as you want. i do ask that for symbol memes, you send in both the symbol and what the symbol is for, but if you can’t, that’s totally fine. some memes may go unanswered if i struggle to write up a reply, but this rarely happens! most asks get answered eventually. i’m also happy to receive non-meme ic asks if that’s your jam! that said, if you’d like to continue any asks as a thread, please move it to a new post! i will not acknowledge replies tacked onto an ask-style post. i, personally, dislike how they look & i find they become confusing after a few posts as well as taking up too much space on the dash.

personally, topics that trigger me are often tagged as it is. ( rape & child abuse ) however, i ask that you tag a/b/o dynamics & spiders as well! these are also topics that makes me uncomfortable and i, for one, would just prefer not to see it. i do my best to tag triggers! i usually catch them, though on occasion it is retroactively. i also keep a list of topics listed in people’s rules that they’d like tagged, although sometimes i slip up. if you ever need something tagged that isn’t, please let me know so i can correct it & remember for next time!

gore and related themes will definitely be present on this blog, as violence accompanies pretty much everything peter does. if fighting and blood aren’t your thing, this is probably the wrong blog for you. as far as smut goes, it isn’t something i have been known to write. i’m not necessarily unwilling, but we’d need to be extremely close ooc & have talked about it for me to agree to writing it.

CAN’T COUNT THE LIST OF THINGS I KNOW ARE WRONG WITH ME. a ravager, peter begins his journey to leaving the crew. his identity as the legendary outlaw star-lord is already established. after his departure from yondu’s men, peter finds his own crew and saves the galaxy.
SO SING IT LOUD UNTIL THEY PUT ME SIX FEET UNDERGROUND. after his epic dance battle that saved the entire galaxy, peter was found by his father. though initially excited, the event proved to be less than great and he was forced to kill the only parent he had left in order to once again save everyone.
on december 4th, 1980, meredith quill gave birth to her son peter. although peter was always a quiet kid, he inherited a great strength from his mother and always stood up for what he believed in. this often resulted in him getting into fights in school, coming home with black eyes and bruises. music was the only thing that easily calmed peter and he often carried around a walkman, which he used to block out the world that overwhelmed him.
as a child, he'd never been able to cope with his mother's cancer and was far too young to warrant his being touched by death. that didn't stop the universe from tearing his mother from him, at age 7, as she swore that one day peter's father would come to take care of him. it was with great despair that peter took off running as far from he could get from the clinic until he was abducted by yondu and his crew.
at age 10, peter was given the milano, which he quickly learned to fly. he also helped the ravagers out on jobs. being small and maneuverable often came in handy and he did anything yondu asked out of fear of being eaten. this continued even into adulthood. peter was 33 before he decided to try and leave to be on his own. that attempt is what brought him together with the group that would become his family: rocket raccoon, groot, drax the destroyer, and gamora.
though originally they were all fighting against each other, circumstances and shared desires turned them into a team. living out of the milano, the crew decided to stick together. two months after their meeting, the guardians met peter's dad, ego. despite peter's initial uncertainty regarding his father, gamora talked him into getting to know the man and his opinion quickly changed; for a brief time, peter genuinely thought he could grow to love the man who helped give him life.
unfortunately, ego revealed to peter that he was responsible for meredith's death and peter lashed out in anger, initiating a firefight with ego before he was rescued by the other guardians. following this, he flew them towards ego's core, where groot was meant to place a bomb to kill ego and save the galaxy. peter took ego head on and physically restrained ego as the bomb went off, bringing the planet, and ego himself, to an explosive end.
peter was then rescued once more, this time by yondu, who sacrificed himself to get peter home. after yondu's funeral, peter didn't know what to do with himself. in an attempt to find himself again, he returned to earth at the turn of the year.
january of 2015 was the first time he'd stepped foot on his home planet since his mother's death. he stayed for a couple months before returning to the guardians, though they made stops back to earth every once in a while. during these pit stops, peter often visits his mother's grave to leave flowers and keep her up to date on his life. the first such trip, he stayed in place for hours just talking to her about all the things he's seen.
infinity war spoilers.
as the guardians left earth from picking peter up, they encountered a distress signal, which they went to investigate. they discovered the asgardian refugee ship, half-destroyed by thanos, and thor himself was floating around space. upon awaking, thor took the second ship to nidavellir along with rocket & groot. the remaining guardians went to knowhere in search of thanos. on knowhere, thanos captured gamora and left with the reality stone.
peter's next course of action was to go to thanos' home planet of TITAN, where he encountered earth heroes iron man, doctor strange, and spider-man. the two teams decided to work together to stop thanos, although their plan failed and thanos was able to retrieve all six infinity stones. with the snap of his fingers, thanos wiped out half the population.
peter was among these until he was torn from peace back into reality, cells regenerating on account of his celestial dna, and just like that peter was left standing on titan with only tony stark and nebula.
